Colin, CEO at Zeffer

There’s a new face at the helm of Zeffer – and he’s bringing big energy, bold ideas, and a genuine love for all things flavour. Colin has stepped into the role of CEO with a clear vision: keep Zeffer pushing boundaries while staying true to its proudly Kiwi roots.
We caught up with Colin to chat about what drew him to the brand, the trends he’s keeping an eye on, and the one snack that mysteriously disappears when he’s around…

What drew you to Zeffer, and what excites you most about leading the team into this next chapter?
Zeffer’s got a great story and a strong brand, and I love that it’s proudly Kiwi with a bit of edge. I was drawn to the energy and passion behind the business – and the fact that it’s not afraid to do things differently. I’m excited to work with such a talented team and help shape what’s next.

What’s one big trend you think will shake up the beverage industry in the next few years?
Health and wellbeing continues to be a big trend in the industry, and I don’t see this slowing down anytime soon. We will continue to see people make choices based on products that fit their lifestyle and health goals – lower sugar, natural ingredients, functional benefits. People still want to enjoy what they’re drinking, but they’re also looking for options that fit into a healthier lifestyle

Zeffer’s all about bold flavours – if you could dream up your own signature brew, what would it be and what would you call it?
I’d go with something vibrant and a bit unexpected – maybe a Yuzu, Blood Orange & Ginger brew. It’d be zesty, slightly sweet, and have just enough of a ginger kick to keep it interesting. The kind of drink that’s refreshing, different and perfect for sunny afternoons.

What’s one small, everyday thing that always puts you in a good mood no matter how busy life gets?
For me, it’s getting to the gym early. Starting the day with a workout helps clear my head and gets me in the right mindset for whatever’s coming. It’s just one of those things that makes me feel good both physically and mentally.

Every CEO has their quirks – what's your go-to office snack or habit we should all know about now that you're in charge?
I’ve got a real weakness for chocolate, and if there’s any in the office fridge, it doesn’t last long. I like to think I have some self-control when it comes to the sweet stuff – but I’m pretty sure the team would disagree

Finally, what’s one piece of advice you’ve picked up in your career that you think everyone at Zeffer should hear?
Believe in yourself and back your team. When people feel confident to speak up and take risks, that’s when change happens. That’s the kind of culture I want to create.

With a focus on innovation, wellbeing, and backing a great team, Colin’s leadership marks an exciting new chapter for Zeffer. Watch this space – the best is yet to come.
